FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Edgewood Log Structures Acquires Western Spirit Log Homes Assets October 16, 2005- COEUR D’ALENE, ID- Amid news of local mill closure, handcrafted log production remains strong for Edgewood Log Structures. Plans to acquire assets from Western Spirit Log Homes of Corvallis, Montana were completed earlier this week. The acquisition comes in response to high consumer demand for Edgewood’s handcrafted log division. Edgewood expects to relocate Western Spirit Homes’ milling equipment and rolling stock to their yard north of Coeur D’Alene later this month. The acquisition will allow Edgewood to increase log production and the length of milled logs by 50%. “Our production yard is currently booking out 9 months in advance,” says president, Brian Schafer. “The acquisition is a necessary step to increase production and handle demand.” Western Spirit Log Homes will continue to service its clients under the Western Spirit name and plans for restructuring will be released late next year. |
